Gifts…
Reading “A Creative Journey“, an artist’s blog I read each day, and it made me think of artistic gifts. Karen does a painting or sketch each new day. Her discipline and gifts never cease to amaze me. I even bought one of her little oils for our home.
I lack the painting skill. Tried it in many forms, from sketching to oils and ended up with total incompetence. Can’t bring it off.
Give me a potter’s wheel, a poet’s notepad or my Nikon and I am at home, and, on occasions, rather good.
But a sketchbook, a piano, a violin or a project in furniture-making… I am a rejected lover.
So, I suspect it is with any aspiring artist. “A variety of gifts… one giver.”

I checked out Karen Winter’s art blog- a great place to go and refresh when needing wise reinforcement for lapses of confidence as an artist.
Thanks for providing the link!
I agree with you that there are many gifts, from one source. It’s kind of neat that you like working with clay, your Nikon and words – all your senses are able be engaged in your creative output and you have so much opportunity to connect with others in so many different ways.
Thank you for posting the link to my Pearls and Swine effort – I am glad you think Jesus would get a chuckle out of it – it is a tremendous compliment you have given me here. It encourages me to keep trying to write, to develop another method of communicating at a time when my painting practice has lapsed due to deterioration in my eyes.
