Liquidation World…

with one comment

Some wisdom from “How to Survive Suburban Life.” It surely speaks to us as we continue to relinquish hidden treasures for the impending move:

Liquidation World?

Let us browse, slow moving

in this emporium of unsold, soiled goods,

quietly search and scan

under the neon high-noon glare for

innumerable useless objects to

deaden unrequited wants

always lurking at

the margins of an unsatisfied self,

in momentary abeyance, now,

only to flare up whenever the

need for material padding prevails.

What need do we have for a remaindered

oil-lamp with a china penguin base,

reams of orange construction paper

left behind from last October’s sales, or

dessicated frozen meats from the freezers?

  1. I should write a poem for Value Village (not sure what it’s called in the States. I’m in Canada) since I shop/save there so much. Nice to have found your blog again and, I’ve added the photoblog, which I never knew you had, to by photoblog feeds. ::thrive! O
