Handling Pictures…
In preparing things for moving next week I’ve discovered something. Paintings and pictures have a special complexity to them. They hang on the wall for decades and give the place a certain feel. They provide a background of supportive and mysterious presence. We grow accustomed to their subtle contributions.
We don’t look at them much. We feel them constantly.
We rented a temporary storage unit and carefully moved them there. Didn’t trust anyone else to touch them.
The pictures are off the wall now, waiting for their rightful place in our lives to return.
It isn’t quite the place it was before. I miss these silent angels.
