Etchings in the Sand…

Thoughts and Photos from the Desert…

Oliver and Dickens

They say that In Washington, if you want a friend you should get yourself a dog. I don’t know if that is true, but it has the ring of truth about it.

We recently looked for a retirement condo and found one we liked very much. Everything was right except for one thing. No pets. We left.

It has been proven that people who have pets live considerably longer. Therapy dogs, visiting in hospitals and hospices bring tears of happiness to patients who cannot be reached by any other means.

Some folks don’t like dogs and that is fine. We love them, especially our own. They love us back. Wait at the door until we get home. Go into orgies of joy when we do. Get us up too early, but what a way to start the day. Constant companions, in our laps, by our side, always finding new ways to let us know how much they love us. Family.

What’s not to love about good dogs? Meet Oliver and Dickens. Cavalier King Charles Spaniels. Ages: 7 and 10. Nice guys.
