Desert Sunsets…

Few sights can compete with sunsets in the desert.

Full of blues and pinks and oranges.

It is the work of fading sun, distance and dust.

The compost of a dying day.

Soon it is gone.

This beautiful desert sunset brings forth many memories for me of years in Ariz. which are especially meaningful right now.

I think of Sedona and the Red Rock Country, remembering the first time I encountered the magnificient beauty of that landscape. Some years later under quite different circumstances I truly felt a spirituality there I have never experienced elsewhere.

Before this week ends, our family will have a true spiritual connection to the area which will last our entire lifetimes. Sometime, in the future, we will visit the area together. Perhaps, we’ll be fortunate enough to experience a sunset reflecting off those red rocks…nourishment for the soul.

Well, you have that right. It is a breathtaking sight. My key word there was dust. That’s the secret!

    Dust to dust.
