Work of a Poet…

a poet’s work

It is a high calling. Few roles are more vital or difficult.

Rushdie said, “A poet’s work is to name the unnamable, to point at
frauds, to take sides, start arguments, shape the world, and stop it
going to sleep.”

Lovely, and very true. I love what William Carlos Williams says:

¨It is difficult to get the news from poems yet men die miserably every day for lack of what is found there…¨
