Climbing to the Sky…

One sits and works with cloud images for a while. Strange and wonderful visions emerge. Life is like that.

hotel for sale…

Yes, if you want to get into the hotel business, I came upon this ancient cowboy hotel for sale about 20 miles northwest of Phoenix on highway 60. I didn’t check the price as I thought you might want to do that yourself.

View From a Hollow Tree…

This was shot through a hollow in a lightening-struck tree. The view is of the face of a cliff. Rugged scenery in a desert oasis.

fledgling hawk…

This fledgling hawk ventured outside of its nest long enough for me to catch a shot of it. The nest is in a huge old tree about two blocks from our home. The babies aren’t very pretty, but their parents are! That’s life.

Ancient Palm…

The story goes that about a century ago a rancher tried to tame this strange underground river oasis in the midst of desert land. One of the things he did was plant a palm tree – which still stands, towering over the wild. It is different from everything else, and perhaps because of this it mysteriously belongs.

The Clouds Sail Overhead…

At least they did yesterday. They are the source of so much beauty, so much nourishment, so much inspiration – and, yes, so much destruction. We’re thankful for them when they appear out here in the desert. They are rare and welcome residents.
