Etchings in the Sand…

Thoughts and Photos from the Desert…

A Lovely Piece…

Here’s a lovely piece by Mark Fleming:

I have heard Ryan be called a lot of things, most of which not repeatable in polite company. Perceptive, though, seems to be PG enough to talk about.

The man posses the uncanny ability to call me out when the need arises, and yesterday the need arose. See, as he so aptly pointed out, I have posted some 43 consecutive rally shots. For those of you, like myself, who aren’t so good with numbers…that’s a lot of car pictures!

His point being that I need to get back to my original goal for this blog, to get myself out there with a lens and just explore. Take photos for fun. Seems easy enough doesn’t it?

The problem comes when you click the shutter for a living. Everyone knows that what one does for his or her livelihood should never be confused with what one does to relax. WRONG! Being creative is fun. Those of us who are lucky enough to have our right brain alive and kicking need to remember that little tid-bit.

All of this to say…less pictures of spinning tires and flying mud, no more complaining about obligatory deadlines and late nights. More clicking the shutter! No questions, no complaints, just good old unbridled creativity!
