Noble Cactus…

One of my favorite desert plants is the Saguro. Things get obscene whn people wrap red ribbons around them and even put Santa Claus hats on them. A Saguaro deserves better.

These Trees Came Down Yesterday…

When first I saw them, close by where we live, they provided aged shelter in the form of an old, but still used nest for a family of red-tailed hawks. It was something to see. Never the same. If you look carefully you can see the nest toward the top of the larger tree.

But time goes on and progress has its way. They both came down yesterday. All that remains is a pile of red sawdust now that the chainsaws have had their way.

This greets us each new day. Three Palms against the sky.

Red…

Yes. The Boston trip is over. On this dark and rainy morning I walked across the lawn a bit and stood before this massive Japanese Maple – a tree that has reduced me to wonder more than once. How does one do justice to such a lovely gift?

I do not know, but one has to try.
